Olivem 1000 must be dissolved in the oily phase of your preparation, hot (70 ° C).
Dosage: 2 to 4% of the total weight for a lotion, 5 to 8% for a cream.
Equivalence: 1 ml = 1g
Melting point: 65 - 75 ° C
Recipe: Vanilla and ylang-ylang moisturizing day cream (André Bitsas)
For 50 ml of preparation:
Aqueous phase (70%) :
Oily phase (30%) :
Preservatives :
Aromatic proportion (1-3%) :
Manual : 1) Transfer the aqueous phase, except aloe vera and glycerin, to heat in a bowl in a water bath. Please note: aloe and glycerin will be added during the cooling step of the aqueous gel.
2) In another bowl, collect the ingredients of the oily phase.
3) Heat the two phases separately in a water bath; the aqueous phase must not exceed 45 ° C in order not to degrade the properties of the hydrosol.
4) The oily phase can reach 70 ° C. The oily phase is ready when the mixture has a homogeneous and translucent appearance without floating residues. It is very important not to underestimate the heating of this phase! Then let cool slightly.
5) Add aloe and glycerin to the aqueous phase.
6) When the two phases are approximately at the same temperature (+ / 35-50 ° C), slowly pour the oily phase into the aqueous phase without stopping stirring vigorously with a mini-whisk for about 3 minutes. The mixture whitens and homogenizes.
7) Without stopping shaking, put the bowl in a bottom of cold water to speed up the cooling and the setting of the emulsion for another 3 minutes.
8) Gradually add the preservatives and the aromatic portion, mixing well between each addition.
9) Transfer the preparation to your 50 ml jar. Don't forget to label.
